Job Summary: Under the continuous on-site supervision of a registered professional nurse preceptor, the Perioperative RN Intern; provides direct and indirect patient care in the perioperative setting; communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist/Coordinator/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology; is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. At the end of the program (approximately 9 months) the intern will transition to full RN Perioperative status.
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current State of Maine RN Licensure Current BCLS certification. Recent acute care experience (within the past two years).
Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
