Collaborates with Supervising Medical Physician (SMP) and follows protocols of SMP in working with student athletes.
Establishes annual Emergency Plan of Action for assigned school.
Provides injury evaluation, care and referrals as appropriate, following protocols of Student Health Service Manual.
Designs and implements effective treatment/therapeutic exercise program based on relevant tests and measurement data.
Coordinates and implements annual Pre-Participation Physical Examinations in assigned school.
Maintains ongoing education of athletes, coaches and parents regarding the care and prevention of athletic injuries.
Maintains appropriate documentation as indicated, following protocols of the Student Health Service Manual.
Maintains and insures safe operation and maintenance of all athletic training equipment and training room facility.
Attends continuing education activities, stays current with practice policies/standards and shares ideas gained with athletic training colleagues in a positive and supportive manner.
Demonstrates knowledge of computer skills as they relate to injury reporting and data management.
Demonstrates ability to be flexible in accepting changes in assignment.
Uses chain-of-command for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Monitors compliance of the Athletic Training Program with the standards in the School Health Standard Manual.
Maintains open communication between Athletic Training Coordinator, School Activities Director and Athletic Coaches.
Keeps athletic training coordinator informed of difficulties associated with performing job responsibilities.
Provides High School Athletic Training coverage for all athletic practices, home athletic games and away games as defined by contract with school district.
Directs bidding, ordering and inventory of supplies and equipment in assigned school athletic training room.
Maintain appropriately equipped and stocked Medical Kits.
Attends and participates in departmental staff meetings.
Meets and exceeds the expectations of patients and all other customers we serve.
Actively assists and supports departmental activities to ensure that operational and salary expenses are equal to or less than approved budget.
Understands the principles and concepts of Performance Improvement. Looks for opportunities and solutions for process improvements and seeks to improve job skills.
